I’ve found time and again that when people become eager participants in a powerful Purpose, potential is unlocked and magical things can happen.

Within motive, I put my focus on Purpose discovery, strategy development, and engaging both internal and external stakeholders as active partners in Purpose. I love helping clients explore where values and value creation meet: identifying those opportunities where the best thing for people and planet is also the best thing for the bottom line.

I’m a brand marketer by training, with almost 30 years’ experience in major multinationals, digital start-ups, international NGOs and consultancies. Purpose has been my passion and focus for the last decade. I’ve been fortunate to be at the heart of pioneering Purpose work at Unilever; then as CEO of Collectively, a non-profit venture born in Davos that brought together more than 30 top multinational companies to accelerate the transition to sustainable living and consumption.  Now consulting and speaking on Purpose transformation, I’m able to bring this breadth of experience to clients’ journeys of change.

I’ve seen the most effective way to help people and organizations change is through using stories and narrative to appeal to their human self and connect with them differently.

At their heart people want to give their best, in a purpose-led organization, and its often-unseen forces that get in the way.

I bring my culture experience to motive to make sure that clients draw on their cultural qualities and team energy as the spark to uncover their Purpose potential. I love to see the light in peoples’ eyes when they feel part of the process and realize that their voice matters. That untapped energy, located in the heart of purpose-led organizations, is the secret sauce for truly making a difference.

For over 25 years I’ve worked in the UK and internationally to help organisations navigate turbulent times and drive authentic, embedded, sustainable change. My clients have come from all sectors, including HMRC, Defra, Ofgem, Novartis, GetWell UK, Heineken and Google. As one of the early pioneers of story and narrative, and being a patent holder for narrative change, I've loved working alongside clients to build strong corporate cultures and high performing teams.

I believe that the best way to get things done is to focus down on what matters most. We face so many challenges, both global and local, that it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start.

Once an organisation’s purpose comes into focus, we can create a sustainability strategy that uses its unique skills, assets and culture to drive positive change. I bring my sustainability experience to help clients create robust, compelling strategies for positive impact. I love challenging clients to define their place in a sustainable world, shape and articulate their organisation’s response to global challenges, and take action on their priority topics.

Over the last two decades, I’ve helped some of the world’s best-known businesses, including C&A, Danone, Ella’s Kitchen, Interface, L’Oréal, Severn Trent and Vodafone, to drive transformational change. I’m a former director of sustainability communications agency Futerra, and culture and behaviour change consultancy Kin&Co. Before becoming a consultant, I held senior sustainability roles at Unilever, Tesco and TUI. I’m a B Leader and the author of ‘Networks for Sustainability’, a guide for leaders on how to embed sustainable business models within large organisations.
